Harvest 2023: our call for organic resilience

After the year 2023. don't give up to organic!

This year we would like to urge organic producers not to give up in the face of climate change that threatens the most fragile crops, such as wine crops.

Our 2023 vintage ends as one of the most difficult challenges. Heavy rains in May and June encouraged attacks of major vine diseases, especially downy mildew and powdery mildew, making the production of our organic grapes complicated.

These issues have not deterred us, and we have focused even more of our commitment and dedication to both organic production and new investments: state-of-the-art machinery and modern winemaking techniques that blend with the deep respect we have for the winemaking tradition of the area.

A territory, that of the Treviso area, which covers 90 hectares and produces organic grapes each year necessary to meet the requirements of the DOC and IGT specifications, and which over time has managed to build a network of 45 certified organic conferters.

"Going organic is an ongoing challenge that is getting tougher in the face of the climate changes we are experiencing. Many conferees are discouraged by the difficulties of organic farming and are thinking of abandoning certification. As a point of reference in the area, we want to offer winegrowers the support and tools they need to understand that, if they make the right and timely choices, organic farming is still the right solution for protecting the environment and producing a responsible product. The scenario of a viticulture without organic is the worst that can be envisioned, considering also that the market is offering more and more openings in this direction."

Settimo Pizzolato.

For us, the choice of organic is a project rooted in the company's philosophy: we have also invested in the cultivation of resistant vines and consider organic a lifestyle choice and a responsibility that must be shared not only with those in the industry but also with consumers.
